Online time management: managing access to time record entries
Following our recent release of the new Timelog and Timesheet application, many of you have provided very valuable suggestions and feedback. We have implemented 2 of the most common suggestions as described below:
- when editing the existing time records for a given week, you can now change the date using a date keeper (so you can move the record to a different date and not only to a different day of the week),
- Managing access to time record entries: you can now restrict access to time records so that a project member cannot see the time records entered by other members of the project.
Changing the date on a time entry
Next to the already entered time records you now have a new date picker icon that allows you to set the record to a different date.

Here is how the new access settings work:
If you do not want a project member to see the time records entered by other members, choose the setting above. Only Administrators and Managers will be able to see the entered time records. So each project member gets to see only the records entered by him or her.
If you are in a collaborative project with a partner or a client and do not want them to see entered time records, you can choose to restrict access only to members of your organization they will see only time records which they have entered. Members of partner or client organizations will only see time records which they have entered.
In the tasks application of a project, Administrators and managers can access all time records. Regular users will onyl see records which they have entered.
In the Timelog application, Administrators and Managers will see all the time records in the project. Project Members get to see only their own time records.
Finally, each project member can enter a time record associated with their username. If access is not restricted, members can enter or edit time associated by other members of the project. With the setting restricting access to all records to Administrators and Managers, time records can be entered or updated by an Administator for any member of a project.
